I am a fully qualified fire retardant specialist.
I use two products, Magma Firestsop and IMW 435.
The fire retardants are environmentally friendly, designed and tested specifically for use on thatched buildings and produced to ISO 9002 standards.
Magma Firestop is a water repellant external fire retardant which can be sprayed directly onto the surface of the roof.
IMW 435 is designed for internal use and can be sprayed onto the internal surface of the thatch and the supporting timbers.
In the United Kingdom Magma Firestop achieved the highest 'A' rating for its spread of flame credentials and protected the roof for well over half an hour. Within the fire retardant there is a special coating which helps to water proof the thatch.
We can also supply and fit Barrier foil 341 and Thatchbatts.
